Massage Therapy

Each massage session is tailored to your needs that day. I use a number of different techniques and modalities of massage to design the most therapeutic massage session for you! Some of the modalities I use are myofascial release, craniosacral therapy, swedish, deep tissue, aromatherapy and much more.

Massage for Pain Relief

Its instinctive to us that massage relieves pain. From a young age if we bump our elbow or have a sore back we touch the painful area. By applying touch we are increasing blood flow to sore, stiff joints and muscles. Touch also makes our brain release natural painkiller into our bloodstream, and it makes us feel calmer and more content.

Each massage is varied to meet your individual needs. I use a bunch of different modalities, including Swedish massage, deep tissue therapy, Craniosacral therapy, Aromatherapy and more to design the perfect session for you, but I primarily focus on Myofascial Release (MFR) for its safety and effectiveness at relieving chronic pain and discomfort.

MFR is a hands-on, whole body therapy can provide amazing results for decreasing pain and helping clients return to active lives full of vitality and happiness. MFR uses sustained pressure and gentle stretching to address the root causes of many common ailments rather than just treating the symptoms, leading to long-lasting results.

HERE IS A PARTIAL LIST OF CONDITIONS THAT CAN BENEFIT FROM MFR:

  • Back Pain
  • Headaches and Migranes
  • Whiplash and other Neck Pain
  • Chronic Pain
  • Disc Problems
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
  • Carpal Tunnel
  • Jaw Pain (TMJ)
  • Painful Scars
  • Sciatica

Massage for Fertility, Pregnancy and PostPartum

MASSAGE IS SUPPORTIVE FOR MOMS-TO-BE AND MOMS AT ALL STAGES.

Fertility Massage:  Prepare your body for conception with massage. Massage will ease stress and anxiety and promote health for the reproductive system and the entire body.   Abdominal massage will help increase circulation and release adhesions in and around the reproductive organs, creating space and allowing your body to be more receptive.

Prenatal Massage:  Massage relieves many of the normal discomforts experienced during pregnancy, such as backaches, leg cramps, headaches and swelling.  In addition, massage for pregnant women reduces stress on weight-bearing joints, encourages blood and lymph circulation, helps to relax nervous tension, improves sleep quality, and can help relieve depression or anxiety caused by hormonal changes.

Post-Partum Massage:  Postpartum massage has been shown to be effective for a quicker recovery so you can do your best at your new job as a mom. Massage will help balance hormones, ease fatigue, promote relaxation and improve your quality of sleep.  Massage can relieve the neck, shoulder and back pain that comes with breastfeeding and childcare as well as any residual body aches from pregnancy.

Massage for Mental Wellbeing

For the same reasons that a massage is relaxing, it can also soothe anxiety and depression.  Massage has been proven to reduce levels of the stress hormone cortisol, reducing the physiological effects of stress. Massage also boosts the neurotransmitters serotonin and dopamine, which are responsible for regulating mood, hunger, focus and sleep and give a sense of well-being, contentment, and pleasure.  Massage tilts the balance away from stress and toward relaxation and healing. What’s not to like?
